This privacy and security notice describes what personal data we collect from you, why we collect it, how we use it,
and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect
When making a purchase from our online store, you enter your card details (if paying by credit card), your name, address,
email address and optionally your telephone number.
We do not store your card number, verification number or expiration date. They are used solely for this transaction.
We do store your name, address, email address, telephone number, IP address and the list of items you have purchased.
Why we collect this data
Your name, address and card details are required for credit card approval. We use your email address to send you an automatic
receipt and download instructions for the items you have purchased, and to contact you in the event of a problem with your order.
This is to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.
We use your IP address to confirm the country you are ordering from, required for tax purposes.
We offer free replacement downloads for lost files on request. The primary way we do this is by matching your
email address with orders you have previously placed. In some situations, for example if you have changed or fogotten your previous email address,
we may then use your street address and/or name to try and identify your previous orders.
It is in our legitimate interest to be able to identify your previous
orders in this way, and to provide a free replacement service. Since customers may return to
purchase additional content for their games spanning many years, we have not set a cutoff period for deleting your order
data. Please see the section below on your rights if you wish us to remove any or all of your data.
In addition to this, a checkbox on the checkout screen requests that you permit us to send, via your email address,
news of updates and promotions concerning the particular game you purchased, approximately three times per year.
We do so because it is in our legitimate interest to provide such
marketing communications. You can revoke this consent at any time by
following the unsubscribe instructions in that news, or by contacting us using the email address at the bottom of this page.
Who the data is shared with
We do not share your personal information with any third parties, unless required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information under any circumstances.
Your personal information is used solely for the purposes mentioned in this policy.
What rights you have
You can request what data we hold for you.
You can request that we correct your personal data.
You can request that we delete everything, or specific items, we have about you.
You can request that we provide your data in a portable way, which we will supply as CSV text records.
You have the right to object to us using your data in specific ways.
